Murder She Said
Margaret Rutherford, who had for
decades played a succession of eccentric, often addled, characters on film and
stage, made her debut as Miss Marple in the first of four films. Here
Miss Marple takes a job as
a domestic in order to work on a murder she actually saw committed. The film
version involved eliminating the character of Mrs. McGillicuddy from the novel
so that Miss Marple could witness the crime.
Murder at the Gallup
Margaret Rutherford,
Miss Marple begins to investigate when an
old man is found dead, apparently frightened by a cat.
In 'Murder Ahoy' Margaret Rutherford, Miss Marple investigates murder on a naval cadet training ship. 'Murder At The Gallop' finds Miss Marple beginning an investigation when an old man is found dead, apparently frightened by a cat. 'Murder Most Foul' finds Miss Marple looking into a theatre murder after hearing all the evidence as a juror at the trial. In 'Murder, She Said' an elderly lady witnesses the death of a woman on a passing train and calls in Miss Marple to investigate the murder.
